choose an option that works for you.

  1. Write on the printable PPWriC PDF and stick it on your fridge.

  2. Write on your phone after you snap a photo.

  3. Write in the NOTES section of your phone.

  4. Write in a journal.

  5. Write on your daily calendar.

  6. Write on a napkin at Starbucks (AKA whatever you can find in the moment).

  7. Shhhhh…don’t tell anyone…but challenge finishers will also receive a cute something special in snail mail that might be a fun keepsake for your haiku…but it’s a surprise until then!

what works for me:

  • Since haiku writing is an in-the-moment kind of experience, I tend to snap a quick photo and write my haiku on a photo. I like this method for a few reasons.

    • For better or worse, my phone is always with me.

    • I love pairing visual images with my haiku, but I don’t get too precious about doing it with a perfect image. For me, it’s most important that I capture the moment.

    • I can save and download haiku photos into darling photo books that serve as mini scrapbooks.

      • I use Canva and/or Mixbooks for my photo books.

      • See photos below.

  • During the challenge, I take a quick moment at the end of the day to write my haiku on the printable fridge PDF. I like doing this because my family sees the haiku and they join in on the fun and write their own (or at least we have a conversation about mine and they write theirs “in the air” without writing them on a piece of paper). It’s fun hanging out in the kitchen, talking and counting on our fingers!
