Rainbows and Unicorns, Revision and Editing, Oh My!
This is the week I talk to my Family of Writers classes about selecting a piece to publish in an anthology that's shared at our culminating publishing party.
I've saved every anthology since 1998. They are treasures. Little slices of family lives that never disappear, stories that become family legacies.
However, submitting a piece for the anthology means revision and editing. And that's when the real work of writers begins.
I love that work. For me, it's all rainbows and unicorns. I've been doing this writing thing for a while, and I'm comfortable with the struggle parts.
But for others, the process is all root canals and meltdowns.
No more, friends!
Check out this video created by yours truly. I created it for parents, but teachers, it all applies to you, too. You'll come to love revision and editing as much as I do. Enjoy the process. Taste the writing rainbow. Become a unicorn and fly with your awesome words!
